Black

Brenda Coomer Black is a Life Coach and Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in individual, couples, and family therapy, and maintains a private practice in Jenks, Oklahoma. She is the founder of Hope Forward Counseling & Hope Forward Foundation.

With over 15 years of experience as a therapist and as a graduate of Oral Roberts University and Southern Nazarene University specializing in Family Systems and Marriage/Family Therapy, she is currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are leaders, Pastors and women.

Brenda is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. Brenda loves to help others rewrite their life's story.

Jarrod
Peterson
,LPC
Jarrod hails from West Texas and is a graduate of Texas Tech University with an undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies. He spent the next season of life as a mentor, coach, and teacher in faith-based work, was involved in various business ventures, and was a pastor of a small church in New Mexico. He has a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He resides with his family in Eufaula, Oklahoma, and enjoys playing with his five children on the lake. Jarrod utilizes solution-focused therapy from a strengths-based perspective with foundations in CBT and motivational interviewing. He is a trained marriage coach in the PREP curriculum and an Oklahoma Attorney General-certified Batterers Intervention Program Facilitator. Having therapy experience with all ages, Jarrod led a Batterers Intervention Program for over two years and was the Bereavement Coordinator for a Hospice in Southeast Oklahoma. He is currently partnering with OK DHS as a facilitator with the Family Expectations program and a trainer for the Family-Centered Coaching initiative. Jarrod offers the SYMBIS assessment for couples looking to enrich their relationship. He enjoys coming alongside people with a compassionate and open heart.
Patty
Poston

Patty Poston is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Grief Professional. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS, with a Master's in Social Work, specializing in Family Systems.

Patty’s counseling experience has been all-inclusive in the areas of mental health, death and dying, and grief/bereavement. As a grief counselor, she enjoyed four and a half years at the Tristesse Grief Center in Tulsa, OK, where she counseled grieving individuals/ couples/families and facilitated a grief-specific spouse loss group.
With nine-plus years of hospice experience and a heart calling for grievers, she has integrated skills and a desire to help others navigate through the pain of loss/change. Patty offers insights with a deep sense of empathy, wisdom, and compassion. Her joy is providing a space where wounded hearts can be heard and healed, and individuals leave encouraged and empowered.

Patty continues to specialize in individual grief counseling, focusing on supporting her clients through whatever loss they face. She is currently a practicing hospice Social Worker and a contract therapist with Hope Forward Counseling.
Patty is the spouse of an OEF/OIF US Army Veteran, mother of three, and grandmother of six, the sixth of whom was born in December 2022. She loves to laugh and truly believes that laughter brings light and healing.
Sarah
Long

Sarah graduated from Oral Roberts University with a Master of Arts in Counseling.
She is a gifted counselor who believes everyone deserves unconditional warmth and acceptance. She is exceptional with kids as well as their parents. Sarah has an understanding of childhood development stages and how to help children with their emotional development based on their age.
You will feel loved from the moment you meet her, and she hopes to make your experience at Hope Forward the best it could be.
Sarah is a wife, and a mother to two amazing boys as well as her doggie Chloe.
Christy
Waters
, LPC-C
Christy has been an educator for 30 years after graduating from the University of Georgia with her master’s in education in 1991. In 2020, Christy decided to go back to school and fulfill a longtime dream of becoming a therapist by obtaining a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northeastern State University. Having decades of experience working with children and teens, and their parents, in an educational setting, she has a broad understanding of the current issues families deal with today and is well-equipped to assist families in processing them. She has also been a part of a women’s ministry for over 13 years, where she encourages and prays with women of all ages. It is her heart that drives her to assist and care for all the people that come across her path.

As a therapist, Christy strives to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative environment to help clients develop a strong sense of self and improve the quality of their relationships. She enjoys helping individuals find peace in an ever-changing world. Her counseling utilizes Solution-Based and Client-Centered Therapy. Born and raised in Georgia, she moved to Tulsa many years ago and put down roots. She has raised both of her adult children in Tulsa and now considers it home. Both of her children are a huge part of her life, along with their mini golden doodle.
Delise
Tomlinson
, Intern
After two decades as an urban planner, a decade as a community volunteer, and through
raising two (now adult) daughters with her husband of 37 years, Delise understands the joy, challenges, and pain life can bring. She has seen and experienced the importance of being known, accepted, loved, and unashamed. Early in her parenting and later through her volunteer work, Delise was drawn to Attachment Theory, so much so that when COVID shut down her volunteer work, she decided to go back to school to combine experience with formal training.
She will graduate with a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary in December 2024
Daniela
Sepehr

Daniela prioritizes giving clients a supportive environment in which they can confidently explore their life’s challenges. By drawing on each individual’s strengths, Daniela serves clients of all ages en route to healing, growth, and breakthrough.

After graduating from ORU in May of 2025, Daniela is elated to pursue licensure as a professional counselor. She and her husband live in Tulsa, where they enjoy spending time outdoors, cooking and baking, and spending time with friends and family.
Wyatt
Broshous

Wyatt Broshous loves to meet clients where they're at. Through a relational approach that puts others at ease, he believes change can happen.
He is a strategic thinker and is usually able to help clients see a path forward.

Wyatt will graduate from Oral Roberts University in May 2025, and pursue his licensure as a professional counselor. He lives in Tulsa, OK with his wife and loves fishing in his free time.

I’ve spent the past 17 years teaching elementary students in Texas and Oklahoma. I’m committed to helping individuals become themselves, unpack, and reclaim their voice. My work focuses on empowering people to build strong lives by turning their setbacks into superpowers. ​
